Tom Sofia, CFE, CPA, Special Agent / National Program Manager, National Intellectual Property Rights Coordination Center, Homeland Security Investigations



Tom Sofia has been a special agent with Homeland Security Investigations since 2005. He has worked on many types of investigations including money laundering and financial fraud, human smuggling and trafficking, and import and export-related crimes. He is currently assigned to the National Intellectual Property Rights Coordination Center at Homeland Security Investigations' headquarters in Washington, DC. Previously, Tom worked as an auditor for U.S. Customs and Border Protection, where he audited companies who import merchandise into the United States. Tom is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist.



Ken Rochford, National Program Manager, National Intellectual Property Rights Coordination Center, Homeland Security Investigations


Ken Rochford has been a special agent with Homeland Security Investigations and its predecessor agency, U.S. Customs Service since 2000, and had been a member of Law Enforcement for over 25 years. He has worked many types of investigations relating to narcotics, financial, strategic, fraud, smuggling, cyber smuggling, federal, state, and local task forces, and undercover operations. Ken is currently assigned to the National Intellectual Property Rights Coordination Center as the HSI Liaison to represent the agency in a joint venture with the National Cyber-Forensics and Training Alliance to pursue international criminals. As part of his duties, he provides national and international oversight for major Intellectual Property Rights investigative priorities, functions as a field liaison to the HSI field offices, and is the HSI liaison to industry partners in the protection of their IP Rights.
