MENSANA project - ”Support for the reform of mental health services in Moldova”
The project facilitates the reform of mental health services in Moldova, so that people with mental health issues can benefit from services responsive to their needs and that they reach their recovery goals.
The project is financed by the Swiss Government and it is implemented by the Netherlands Institute of Mental Health and Addiction (Trimbos Institute), through Trimbos Moldova project implementation unit. Project partners: Ministry of Health, Labour and Social Protection (Republic of Moldova), Luzerner Psychiatrie (Switzerland), Romanian League for Mental Health (Romania).
MENSANA project is currently in its second phase, 2018 – 2022. Here are some of the most important project achievements so far:
a new model of community mental health services is implemented in the daily work of 40 community mental health centres around the country;
enhancement of the system’s human resources efficiency through constant training and mentoring;
establishment of a quality management system for the community mental health services;
destigmatisation and promotion of mental health services among the general population.
